The best workout equipment for a home gym

Going to a commercial gym might be the best option for a bodybuilder who wants a wide variety of exercises and the most amount of weight to lift. But, for the average lifter who wants to be in shape, you can achieve a great physique at home using minimal workout equipment.

Here are 3 different sets of workout equipment to start a home gym from 100$ up to 1000$ depending on how much you can spare:

LOW budget equipment (100-200$)

With a low budget, you will be getting the basic home workout equipment to target every muscle group but you won’t have as much variety of exercises as the next 2 budgets.

Anyways, it’s a great place to start for any beginner out there. here is what you should have:

  1. Pull-up bar
  2. dumbbells
  3. Resistance bands
  4. Small Barbell
  5. weight plates
  6. Jumping rope (optional for cardio)

MODERATE budget equipment (200-500$)

The moderate budget in my opinion this the best of both worlds. you will be getting enough workout equipment to build an effective routine with a wide variety of exercises for a fair price.

this is a great list for someone who already has lifting experience and wants to start a home gym without too much workout equipment to pay for:

  1. Squat rack
  2. Olympic Barbell
  3. Adjustable Bench
  4. Dumbbells
  5. weight plates
  6. Pully System
  7. Stationary bike (optional for cardio)

HIGH budget equipment (500-1000$)

This list of workout equipment is for the fitness guru out there who hates Commerical gyms and wants to have a great workout at home with no limit in terms of exercise variety and weights (and money of course).

Here is what you should get:

  1. Advanced squat rack
  2. Olympic Barbell
  3. Adjustable bench with leg extension pad
  4. Dumbbells
  5. weight plates
  6. Cable Cross machine
  7. Treadmill (optional for cardio)

The amount of weight that you should buy with this list of equipment depends mainly on how much you can handle at the big lifts such as squats and deadlifts.

Also, the prices may vary as well depending on where you are buying these workout equipment.
