These awesome benefits can improve your ability to lose weight or maintain an already ideal weight.

In fact, caffeine is actually one of only a very few natural compounds that have been scientifically proven to aid fat burning, with a number of studies revealing that it can boost the metabolic rate by 3 to 11%.

One study looked at people who drank caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee.

They found that caffeinated coffee drinkers had a 16% increase in metabolism over the decaffeinated group, while later research showed that a person drinking two cups of coffee burned an extra 50 calories over the next several hours.

3-Apple cider vinegar

Sipping apple cider vinegar throughout the day can help increase the metabolism, fat burning, and weight loss. Vinegar has long been used as a weight loss aid as it also helps to make you feel full, and has been scientifically shown to increase satiety.

A 2009 study found that participants who consumed ACV for 12 weeks managed to achieve significant declines in body weight as well as abdominal fat, waist circumference, and triglycerides.

Other research showed that overweight subjects who drank ACV every day for 12 weeks had less visceral fat, lower waist circumference, and a lower BMI as compared to those who didn’t drink apple cider vinegar.

But you should never drink apple cider straight, as it can burn your esophagus. Instead, simply mix a couple of teaspoons of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with 16 ounces of water, and a little raw honey to sweeten it up.

A study published in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition discovered that polyphenols (plant compounds that also act as antioxidants) found in the lemon peel and juice may help to stimulate the liver to burn fat.

Lemon water also helps to aid digestion, helping the body to better absorb nutrients from other foods and it aids in regulating insulin spikes too.

Whip up some in a large water bottle and sip on it throughout the day for the best effects. Not only will you stay hydrated, which keeps the metabolism burning at its max.

5-Vegetable juice

Vegetable juice and veggies in general are great to help you boost your metabolism as they are full of vitamins, minerals and amazing nutrients that will help you to lose weight faster.

In one study, adults who drank 16 ounces of low-sodium vegetable juice while following a low-calorie diet lost significantly more weight than those who did not.

Plus, the vegetable juice group significantly increased their vegetable consumption and significantly decreased their carb intake, two factors that are important for weight loss.

Therefore, drinking fresh juice of veggies like kale, Swiss chard, spinach, broccoli and other green leafy types, are a great way to flush the toxins out of your system to support weight loss and a faster metabolism.

You might know that grapefruit has been shown to be an appetite suppressant and an aid in speeding the metabolism and improving insulin resistance.

One study, published in Food and Nutrition Research in 2014, found that people who ate more grapefruit (which included drinking grapefruit juice) had lower body weights than those who didn’t eat the fruit, and they also had smaller waist and higher “good” HDL cholesterol levels.

The researchers also found that people who ate grapefruit tended to get more essential nutrients such as Fibers which can aid in slowing the digestion process and make you stay full during the day.

8-Ginger tea

Ginger is widely used as an herbal remedy to treat a number of conditions such as nausea, colds and arthritis.

But, many studies have also shown this flavorful root to have a beneficial effect on weight loss and speeding up metabolism.

A study found that a high-fat diet supplemented with 5% ginger powder for four weeks had significant reductions in body weight and significant improvements in HDL (“good”) cholesterol levels compared to a high-fat diet without ginger.

Although this study used a concentrated ginger powder, another study found that ginger tea also helps reduce appetite and increase metabolism.

One study in 10 overweight men found that when they drank 2 grams of ginger powder dissolved in hot water with breakfast, they experienced increased fullness and decreased hunger compared to days when no ginger tea was consumed.

Plus, the study showed that the ginger tea increased the thermic effect of food (the number of calories needed to digest and absorb food) by 43 calories.

Although that isn’t a huge number of calories, this suggests that, when combined with its satiating properties, ginger tea could be an effective way to enhance weight loss.

 9-Milk

Many studies have shown that calcium intake contributes significantly to weight and fat loss.

According to a review published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2004. The author of the review concluded that three or more servings of dairy foods and beverages a day could speed up calorie-burning in adults.

And  when you think about calcium, milk is the first thing that might come to your mind as it one of the highest sources of calcium.

You have to know that dietary calcium works better than supplemental, because the branched chain amino acids in dairy products seem to support the effects.

Just drinking three glasses of milk a day may give your metabolism a boost and don’t forget to watch the fat content of your milk to control your calorie intake and reduce your unhealthy saturated fat intake.

Protein can also increase metabolism because of the amount of calories needed to digest and metabolize it. This is known as the thermic effect of food (TEF).

For instance, 15-30% of protein calories is burned during digestion, while only 5-10% of carb calories and 0-3% of fat calories is burned during digestion.

So, Protein shakes are a convenient way to increase your daily protein intake to boost your metabolism and burn more fat.
